Rising Fire: Chapter 4
T. and I were eating breakfast the next morning when his phone rang. In general, T. had a rule about not using our phones when we were eating together, but he glanced at the caller I.D. and scowled, answering immediately. "Hello? ... Yes, I'm Tre'ran Enjur. ... I'm sorry, hold on, you what?" His face shifted from annoyance to fury to disbelief all at once, and his grayish skin went pale. "Yeah, it's... I'll... I'll be by to make a statement. Just gonna... yeah. I'll be in, in a little while."
He put the phone down after hanging up and leaned forward, burying his face in his hands without saying anything.
