Total Eclipse of the Editor
I live right in the total eclipse area, and I had no choice but to make the title something about it.
This last week has been a lot. Not all bad, but a lot. I had a severely mentally ill young man wander onto my property who I was doing my best to help, a friend fly out for a visit from Oregon, a concert, a nor’easter that knocked out power for a day, and a number of other things relating to my professional life.
As a result, I’m a little behind. I’m trying to get my newsletter sorted out (because DMARC is causing me migraines) and get some other work done while also not neglecting my out-of-town bestie. As a result, I haven’t had much to add this week (my apologies) and have been exhausted.
This is one of the things that just happens in life at times. As someone who does content creation and who writes and edits, there will be days or weeks that just are a wash due to various factors. Remember to be kind to yourself during these low energy periods. You are worth just as much when you are exhausted and using all your energy existing.
I also did a bunch of reading this week, finishing two books (Wolf Willow Witch by Freydis Moon and Angels Before Man by rafael nicolás) and started another (Dowery of Blood by S.T. Gibson). They were gifts from a friend of mine, so I wanted to actually sit down and read them. Angels Before Man was rough. Well-written and beautiful, but very difficult to read. If you are going to try and read it, know that the trigger warnings for the second half of the book are not for show.
Just a very short entry this week. Next week we will be back to your regularly scheduled dissertations.
